Self- Realization Fellowship | Encinitas Family Photographer

Her first day at the Koi Pond in the SFR Meditation Garden. I asked her to use her library voice and she was so good at doing just that. Sorry no koi fish photos. We’ll go back many more times since we live so close and she has the personality to be there and not make a scene.

First Earrings ~ Encinitas Family Photographer

We waited until she was three years and a few months old to get her first pair of earrings. It’s something she really wanted (that and a VW with Barbies). The girls at Icing in Carlsbad were wonderful and calming. What our little girl didn’t know was the “Pinch and Awe” that would happen in order to put the earrings in her ear lobes. She handled it like a trooper, though. Now it’s Daddy’s chore to clean her ears three times a day. No worries!

Brooke | Encinitas Family Photographer

Luckily for Brooke and her Mommy it was a beautiful day at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas since the previous few days were colder and breezy. The goal was to capture a Christmas card photo and then photos for the photo album plus, maybe a nice photograph for Daddy’s office.  I believe we did that and more…

Thank you to Brooke and Mommy for allowing me to capture some pretty fun moments at Moonlight Beach. I’m very proud to be your Encintas Family Photographer.

Murrieta Bulldog Baseball

First Tournament for the young Murrieta Bulldog Youth Baseball team.

Manager Art Clark is one of the finest coaches you’ll ever meet. I spent time in front of the dugout listening to him encourage and discipline his team with such grace. His surrounding coaches also adhere to his philosophy. Read the following:

The 10 Commandments of Baseball

1. Nobody ever became a ballplayer by walking after a ball

2. You will never become a .300 hitter unless you take the
bat off your shoulder.

3. An outfielder who throws back of a runner is locking
the barn after the horse is stolen.

4. Keep your head up and you may not have to hold it down.

5. When you start to slide, S-L-I-D-E. He who changes
his mind may have to change a good leg for a bad one.

6. Do not alibi on bad hops. Anybody can field the good ones.

7. Always run them out. You can never tell.

8. Do not quit.

9. Do not find too much fault with the umpires. You cannot expect
them to be as perfect as you are.

10. A pitcher who hasn’t got control, hasn’t got anything

A great opportunity to learn here. I’m looking forward to photographing more kids and learning more from this wise man…

Oh, and he is the father of a well known retired Major League Baseball player….can you guess who?? Hint…he played for the Tigers, Yankees, Padres and Diamondbacks.

So there you have them…some beautifully refurbished and some in their original state. Each one perfect in their own way.

More Smith & Nixon Upright Piano, Circa 1899

The Smith & Nixon Piano Company was one of Cincinnati’s premier piano manufacturers during the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. Smith & Nixon owned and controlled a handful of other makers including Ebersole and Goldsmith Piano Companies. Ebersole and Goldsmith were marketed as affordable alternatives to the costlier Smith & Nixon brand instruments. Smith & Nixon brand pianos were sold as the firm’s top-of-the-line, highest grade instruments. Because of their high prices, they were only built in modest numbers and are a bit rare today. The firm was out of business by 1931 due to the Great Depression (courtesy of http://www.antiquepianoshop.com).

I am fortunate to photograph this antique upright piano. Yes, it needs refurbishment but it is one beautiful instrument. I am not sure the last time it was tuned but am sure it has been over 10 years…it sounds good and not too out of tune.

Enjoy…
