Grandpa saves the day and the bubble maker.
A little late for Memorial Day so let’s say it’s a pre-Fourth of July post…
I should know to always have my camera with me when taking a walk but sometimes the timing is wrong. High noon light is harsh but I guess I can still shoot in the shadows?? Yes…
Anyway, enjoy this door and our American Flag. Happy Fourth of July…early!
The family spent the day at Legoland on Sunday. This was the first time we had visited this amusement park. I had never wanted to go because, for one, I didn’t have kids but even as my little girl got older I still wasn’t thrilled to visit. Well, that has all changed since going with friends and now I can’t wait to return. The lines for the rides were usually short and maybe 15 minutes at the max. If you have a toddler you know how long even five minutes in line can be. The rides were fun and perfect for the kids. We laughed and were in awe of the Lego built animals and fairy tale characters. AMAZING! So here are a few photos of New York City. I’ll be sure to post some Vegas photos later but for now, enjoy!
A big thank you to The Burba Family for letting me spend a few hours with them at Balboa Park in San Diego CA. The day was spectacular with perfect San Diego weather. I discovered a few interesting spots at Balboa Park when scouting the area for pictures. It’s amazing what you find when you slow down and simply look around.
Today was my second day of running after an eight month layoff otherwise known as ‘being lazy’. I was still walking along Neptune, just not running behind my BOB stroller as I had been over the last two and a half years. As I came to a stop and started my cool down back to the house a couple were walking my way. I didn’t know their names just their faces as we casually said “Hello” over the years. They stopped to ask me how far I was running today and to tell me they see me running all the time. I told them the distance then we exchanged names and were off. As I turned to continue my cool down I thought how funny it was that I have not been running for eight months but to them they see me running all the time. Now if only my knees and hips will agree to get along with me I will be able to continue my runs on Neptune for many more years.
We recently spent the weekend at Big Bear Lake in a nice cabin on the lake. At the coldest it was 19 degrees and at its warmest 54 degrees. It was beautiful to see the lake frozen over along the shoreline every morning and in some cases lots of snow was still sitting on the ground. Big Bear Lake is amazing during the winter months. Looking forward to staying here again in the summer.
